We would love to discuss with you how to add some of the sass and spunk of Thom J. Ertl Designs to your living and business environments! Think about:
- The kind of design that you like;
- The spaces to put them;
- The artwork you want to see; and
- The existing components near and dear to you that you want to incorporate into your space!
Here are some examples of commissions and installations by Thom J. Ertl Designs:
THE BAY. Owners of The Bay Restaurant expressed the need to update its dining area décor plus refresh its entrance display window. The finished product is a space that combined sleek, modern and whimsical Thommie Squares with the historic integrity of the restaurant itself. The grid system is economical—staying iconic with its use of vintage materials—and is easy to change. The wall art Fish & Chips subtly announces seafood menu choices in another section of the dining area. The entrance is meant to be simple, yet detailed and friendly and informational, and serves as a successful introduction to one’s dining experience at The Bay Restaurant.
MA’S FISCHER’S. Iconic eatery Ma Fischer’s had an original counter-now-checkout area that included a formerly-used window for candy and gum. The window was dowdy and dated. The finished product is colorful, eye-catching custom art work that converts that portion of the counter into a well-defined advertising and conversation piece for customers and staff alike. Future plans will include mural painting on a wall in the parking area.
MILWAUKEE FILM FEST. Local Milwaukee hair salon chain The Cutting Group has been an avid sponsor of the Milwaukee Film Fest for many years. Each season the sponsored movie is announced in display window form at the busy east side location of The Cutting Group. The result is a multi-dimensional visual experience that grabs the interest of passers-by, providing film information and maintaining the established look and feel of the salon’s mid-century décor.
